Maintenance and Minor Works
University of Ulster
Our relationship with the University of Ulster, has spanned 20 years including maintenance work and full projects. This includes reactive and planned maintenance work along with contracts up to a value of £600,000 across all campuses. Recent projects including a lighting refurbishment at the Jordanstown campus. Notably, we were the first electrical contractor to be awarded a main contract at the Magee campus which was completed in a record six weeks.

Refurbishment of the David Keir building
Queen’s University, Belfast
Our work with Queen’s University, one of the leading Universities in the UK, includes the refurbishment of the teaching and research labs in the David Keir Building. This involved the installation of bespoke Laboratory Service Wings which incorporated the Electrical and Mechanical Services.

Electrical Contracting
Fleming Fulton/ Harberton/ Glenveagh Special Needs School
We have a solid track record in working in Special Needs Schools and our work with Fleming Fulton, Harberton and Glenveagh Special Needs School illustrates the high standards that we achieve. As part of electrical contract we delivered lighting schemes, Nurse Call Systems, CCTV/Door Access Systems, Swimming Pool Lighting Installation and associated Plant Controls.

Greenwood Assessment Resource Centre
Full Electrical Fit-out
This was a major project involving the replacement of the electrical systems in Greenwood House. Our work won plaudits from the Principal of Greenwood House Assessment Centre who said: “The result has exceeded all expectations. Communication between the team members and with the school was excellent. At the planning stage much consideration was given to maintaining and improved the decorative state and architectural features of the house.”

Refurbishment of Headquarters
KPMG
B.I. Electrical Services carried out Electrical Contract for KPMG’s office refurbishment programme. We were selected as a local contractor matching the international standards for KPMG offices worldwide. This included General and Emergency Lighting, Fire Alarm System, IT infrastructure and Door Access. As a result of the success of this project, our services have been retained for the last 8 years to provide maintenance services.

Capita Plc
B.I.Electrical Services implemented the full fit out of Belfast office included the General & Emergency Lighting, General Power, Video Conferencing Facilities, advanced CCTV & Door Access as well as an extensive secure and complex IT Infrastructure.

Shell and Core Services
B&Q
B.I. Electrical Services provided the shell and core services for B&Q in Northern Ireland including the Landlord and external services. We implemented the core infrastructure for the building ranging from the sub-mains cabling to the office fit out.

Orangefield Presbyterian Church
The challenge was to achieve the highest standards in lighting, audio and visual systems. The solution delivered a lighting management system which included an intelligent dimming configuration and a professional recording system.

Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust
Castle Espie
Our approach ensured that we were sympathetic to the landscape and structure of the building set in the natural beauty of Castle Espie. The solution included the construction of the building using glue lamb wooden structure to blend in with the natural environment. Renewable Energy sources included a 15 metre wind turbine, solar panels, water recovery system and an energy efficient heating system using a bio-mass boiler. Additional work included significant audio and visual systems for the visitor centre.

New Sports Pavilion

Working in partnership with the consultant we assisted with the design and build to deliver a brand new sports pavilion including changing facilities, restaurant facilities and entertainment facilities under a guaranteed maximum price (GMP) basis.

Reflecting a modern healthcare system, B.I. Electrical Services has delivered high quality electrical engineering solutions to the sector across Northern Ireland. Our experience in the healthcare sector is diverse. This ranges from the installation of an innovative nurse call system for Belfast City Hospital to the delivering a new Combined Heating and Power system for the Mater Hospital. Each of these projects required sensitivity to the working environment as well as deploying state-of-the-art technology to meet our customers’ business challenge.

Refurbishment of Medical Biology Centre
Queen’s University, Belfast
B.I. Electrical Services provided electrical contracting services including Lighting, Power, Fire Safety and Data Infrastructure as part of a refurbishment of Medical Biology Centre. This included a combination of a new lecture theatre, teaching rooms as well as café and communal area.

CHP Plant
Mater Hospital, Northern Ireland
Building energy efficiency through heat recovery systems needs to be a reliable and cost efficient. This project involved a transition from old equipment including Switch Gear and Boiler Plant to a new combined heat recovery system. This was implemented seamlessly providing direct integration of the new system into the mains whilst providing essential generator backup services to maintain critical services at the Hospital.

Installation of Nurses Call System
City Hospital, Northern Ireland
Patient to nurse communication is vital in a hospital alerting nursing staff to calls from patients or other members of staff. Working closely with the City Hospitals Estates management team, B.I. Electrical Services delivered a nurse call system within a live working environment throughout the Wakehurst Building.
